APEX Management Group was founded in 1993 by a group of senior actuaries and healthcare consultants. Originally, APEX was focused on health benefits risk management, reinsurance systems, and provider consulting to support the rapidly changing healthcare environment in the 1990's.

As the business grew, APEX developed a set of comprehensive actuarial tools to develop insurance and reinsurance rates. APEX.HRM, our health rating model, is currently licensed by over 50 organizations. Our customer base continues to expand beyond the traditional at-risk health plan to include large employers, government entities, and health insurance brokers.

APEX was acquired in 2002 by Gallagher Benefits Services, Inc. (GBS), to provide in-house actuarial consulting services to its rapidly growing branch network of consultants and brokers. In 2007, APEX formally changed its name to Healthcare Analytics, a Division of Gallagher Benefit Services, Inc., to recognize our broader service platform beyond actuarial services including an audit practice, a data warehousing practice, and a medical management practice.
